Se7en (Fincher, 22 September 1995, US)

In the opening sequence of Se7en it uses the 4 elements to create an effect on the viewer, in this blog im going to be discussing all four of these elements and how they create an effect on the audience.

Mise en scene:

In this video we can see a shot of a pair of hands this creates an effect because the hands look disfigured and unnatural this makes the audeince feel tense because this could be foreshadowing the film.

This is a shot of a drawing of a child who has had his eyes drawn out, this creates an effect on the audience because it's making them ask questions about the film, who is this child? was he a victim?

Cinematography:

In the extreme close up we can two pictures of people that have also had their eyes been drawn out, also it has a piece of paper with what looks like to be hair this creates an effect that it's making the audience ask question in that who are these people? and does this hair belong to one of these people?
This is a extreme close up of a man cutting of the skin on his fingers, this creates an effect on the audience, because it makes them feel strange and tense because this man's actions are not normal, this could lead to the audience asking questions about this man, who is he? why is he doing that?

Editing:
If you look at this video it is a piece of montage editing, this creates meaning for the audience because it shows that this person who is in the intro has been doing this for a long time, this makes the audeince feel nervous and tense because it shows that this person in the intro isn't in the right state of mind.

If you watch this video we can see some fast paced editing, this creates an effect on the audience because it shows that there's a threat to the protagonists and that the person in the clip is dangerous.

Sound:

If you watch the video listen to the soundtrack which is getting played, this creates an effect on the audience because the sound track is not normal and sinister this makes the audience feel tense and disorientated because the soundtrack isn't normal.

If you listen to the soundtrack in this clip, you can hear a searching noise, this creates an effect on the audience in that it makes them feel disorientated because it sounds a bit like a scream this could lead them to ask questions about could this be a victim?
